Taste Of Oregon – In Seattle

Taste of Oregon in WA

I love a good Pinot… and a good Pinot, for me, has always been an EXPENSIVE one.

Until last weekend.

Seattle Uncorked’s Founder and Sommelier David LeClaire hosted another divine wine tasting event, this time highlighting our dearest vino cousins in Oregon.

Drew and I sipped and savored delicious varietals from Willamette (rhymes with damn it), Dundee and Rogue/Illinois Valleys.

Pinot Noirs, Pinot Blancs, and Rosés – OH MY.

They all had their charm, however, these were my top three faves:

Soft tannins… Fruit forward, but not a fruit bomb.  A little cherry, a little berry, and a loooooong, luscious finish.

Shout out to Sarah Reed for the tip… There were only a few more tastes left and we were blessed because of her!

Foris Vineyards – 2015 Pinot Blanc

Reminds me of Apple Blossom Time… vanilla on my nose…  a crisp, zingy coconut finish. I would love to sip this with some pork carnitas or my fave avocado-coconut curry dish!

Must. Find. A. Bottle. Soon.WoW Rogue Valley Appellation

Drew and I will definitely be planning a trip to the Illinois Valley in the Rogue Valley Appellation this year.

Special thanks to Jill DiNucci Paxton for the intro to this fabulous winery!

This scrumptious pink wine is a 50/50 blend of Grenache and Mourvedre… Two of my favorite Rhone varietals!   Creamy, crisp, light strawberry notes tickle your tongue when sipping this perfectly dry Provence-style delight!
